Veterinarians and their teams are our heroes. When Dr. Steve Weinrauch, Trupanion’s chief product officer, wanted to celebrate veterinary teams, he called Val DeRoy, a longtime trusted colleague, friend and Trupanion territory partner in Florida.
Val’s sister, Leslie DeRoy, a lifelong animal lover who had a master’s degree in marketing, and who spent her life as an advertiser and marketer, was with her when Dr. Weinrauch called. Leslie joined the call as she felt strongly that veterinary professionals should be recognized for the heroic work they do every day. She proposed to recognize the veterinary profession’s unwavering and selfless commitment to animal health, and she helped create the slogan “You are their hero, let us be yours."
Today, Trupanion celebrates veterinary professionals with the Hero Appreciation Program, which recognizes the time and effort veterinary teams devote to pets insured with a Trupanion policy.
Sadly, Leslie DeRoy passed away in March 2020.
Trupanion’s Hero Appreciation Program is dedicated in memory of Leslie DeRoy, our friend and muse for her contribution to the program, and for her eternal admiration and immense respect for the veterinary profession.

A key part of getting your hospital paid is completion of a Vendor Form. Hospitals based in the U.S. will also need to complete a Tax Form.
